About Lydia Liaskou Antoniou
Lydia Liaskou-Antoniou is a distinguished medical professional with extensive academic and professional experience, particularly in international medical environments. She graduated with honors from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holding a medical degree, and previously completed her International Baccalaureate at the American Community Schools of Athens with high distinction.
Lydia commenced her medical career in Greece as a General Surgery Resident at Sismanogleio and A. Fleming General Hospitals. She then advanced her training in the United Kingdom, serving as a Junior Surgical Trainee at NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Ayrshire and Arran in Scotland. During this tenure, she developed significant expertise in Orthopedics-Trauma, ENT, and Urology .
Her international experience is further exemplified by her research contributions with the Hellenic Institute for the Study of Sepsis. Lydia’s research has been presented at prestigious global conferences, including the International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine and the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. She has also co-authored publications in leading medical journals, such as the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, Lydia has completed training courses in advanced life support, advanced trauma life support, surgical skills, and microsurgical techniques from renowned institutions across the UK and Greece. Her linguistic proficiency in English (Certificate of Proficiency in English, University of Michigan), French (DALF C1), and Spanish (DELE B2) enhances her capability to deliver exceptional medical care to international patients.
